A plausible end-of-the-world scenario you’ve probably never thought of

You’ve seen the world end with fire, earthquakes, and WTF in movies like 2012and The Core. But to find out about truly horrific, plausible scenarios you need to ask a scientist. We talked to Cal Tech’s Joe Kirschvink, a geobiologist who studies the ancient history of life — and mass death. He gave us a nightmare scenario where one evolutionary shift in ocean microbes leaves humans unable to breathe.

Drunk Florida Man Tries to Use Taco as I.D.

…Only in Florida

Ground beef is not a valid form of identification. Not in Martin County, not in Los Angeles, not anywhere. A Florida man learned this the hard way, when he handed a taco to police officers who asked for his I.D. This was after he had passed out in his car. While sitting in the drive-through lane of a Taco Bell. And his engine caught fire.

Matthew Falkner

?In the wee hours of October 1st after downing several beers, Matthew Falkner, 30, made a fourth meal run to a Jensen Beach Taco Bell. While sitting in his Chevy pickup, he placed his order, received his taco and promptly passed out. What happens next is Buster Keaton meets Cops.

The Miami New Times reports:

A deputy awoke Falkner and then asked for his ID. Falkner said no before reaching into his bag and presenting the officer with a taco. Another deputy clarified they were asking for an ID, not a taco. Falkner chuckled and began eating the taco.

To top it off, Falkner had fallen asleep with his foot on the accelerator while his truck was in park, causing the engine to catch fire. Falkner, whose blood alcohol content was between .227 and .225 (three times the legal limit), was booked on DUI charges.

Tourists film ‘alien’ in the Amazon

BIZARRE footage that appears to show a small alien-shaped figure standing next to a flash of light in the jungle has been released.

The video is believed to have been taken by two British tourists during a trip to the Mamaus region of the Amazon rainforest before being passed on to the Brazilian government, the Sun reports.

Paranormal writer Michael Cohen said the footage may be among the best proof that aliens exist.

“This is highly compelling footage that will be hard to discredit,” he said.

“It comes from an area known for experiencing intense UFO activity. It is rather apparent that aliens are interested in this region due to its biological diversity.

Mr Cohen said the area was the focus of an investigation by the Brazilian government and the army was sent in to monitor an alien presence.

“The Brazilian government denied that there was an Operation Prato for years before conceding it did occur and releasing large amounts of files associated with it.”

The footage will be used in a Hollywood movie.

James is upset at Erich vonDanigan!

Oh pity-pooo!

You remember Erich vonDanigan right?.

You know, ancient astronauts. Chariots of the Gods and all that. Erich has been more or less discredited by archaeologists of every stripe. Might have something to having no real evidence that matches his wild claims. Pseudo archaeological “experts”  HATE IT when real ones rain on their wild ideas.

But my old buddy James Gilliland is also  pissed off at Erich. Here is what he has to say about him.

Coast to Coast Erich vonDanigan

Quite a few years ago I met Erich at a talk and luncheon in Seattle Washington. I invited him to the ECETI Ranch to see the ships of the very off worlders or Gods he writes about. I also made available footage of their ships. I told him the story about reverse speech where when asked who was on the large golden ships in reverse speech I said sailor Vishnu is his name. One would think this would spark the interest of Erich again he said I am only interested in Antiquity. His interview on Coast to Coast again revealed he is not interested and does not believe in UFOs here and now. This is a classic example of living in the past and refusal to look at the obvious. Contact is happening NOW. Despite his proclamations that there is no scientific evidence and this is all in the past the evidence is to the contrary. We cannot ignore the top official testimony, radar returns, photos, videos, and millions of sightings and contacts around the world.

I would imagine Erich has access to a computer, can look at the disclosure projects and god forbid ECETI then make an educated decision yet you cannot instill want into another being. This is a classic example of keeping it in the past. If you keep it in the past, far way in the heavens, dark and fearful you flourish in ufology. If you have a mountain of evidence, photos, video, thousands of witnesses from all walks of life and if you know who they are and why they are here you get censored. The field of ufology is riddled with disinformation and egos with boxes demanding everyone stay within their box. There is an agenda to keep it dark and foreboding, a threat thus a new enemy for the military industrial complex. Contact with spiritually and technologically advanced beings happening here and now is a big no no if you want notoriety and material acquisition. It also can be life threatening taken from personal experience. I have been axed again and again from talk shows, documentaries for walking a path of integrity and stepping outside the box. The evidence backs us up at ECETI and the sightings and contact are ongoing which is a thorn in the side of the controllers and those trying to contain the truth in their little boxes. This should be a cooperative effort where everyone shares not a competitive cut-throat disinformation game. Do you wonder why these people do not know who is on the ships and their agenda? Do you wonder why they have not been contacted? Do you wonder why they censor, hold the off world visitors far away or in the past and are threatened by the here and now? It is because they have not risen to the occasion or have walked a path of spiritual integrity.

The recursive silliness of this just cracks me up.  I mean, I don’t know why Eric didn’t take James seriously. I mean James evoked the mighty name of sailor Vishnu and everything. (Sorry – I follow Spaceman Ganesha myself so what do I know?)

However James is correct about one thing. Eric , myself and I suppose the rest of us losers should start taking James and his weed sanctuary (sorry Sativa Sanctuary) more seriously. It’s perfectly logical (says I) that benign aliens would spend  enormous resources traveling MILLIONS of miles just to blink lights randomly at James and his THC soaked pals as they (ah ehem!)  sit around in lawn chairs partake in all the Sativa Sanctuary has to offer.

It HAS to be aliens! No human flying like say, jet aircraft would have blinky lights and stuff…

Now where was I?

Happy Doomsday Funnseekers!

Yes indeed! Today is the last trump, the end of the world, the day it all goes down, dooms day! How about that! We lasted until the very last day of reality. Who would have thought it?

I really hope it happens, otherwise I’ll have to revise the date back to December of 2012, what a pain that would be!

….now where have I heard that before?…..

…now I remember.

A doomsday date for your diary! World ‘will end on Friday’ says preacher who claims the Apocalypse has arrived

By LEE MORAN
Last updated at 3:31 PM on 15th October 2011

Doomsday preacher Harold Camping was left a laughing stock when his prediction that the world would end on May 21 failed to materialise.

But the 90-year-old Californian may well have the last laugh after revealing that date was in fact Judgment Day – a spiritual moment when the righteous would be chosen – and simply a warm-up for the Rapture which happens exactly five months later.

This means that Friday, October 21, will mark the start of the Apocalypse – when believers will be whisked away into heaven and hell will be unleashed on earth.

And cynics should be warned, as the Rapture Index – a monitor of current affairs for the frequency and intensity of end-time signs mentioned in the Bible – is at an almost all-time high.

Arguing With Your Crazy Uncle About Climate Change

You can see where I’m going with this. The implicit philosophy here is that scientific “belief” is inseverable, and that if Einstein (one of our holiest prophets) can be questioned, surely everything falls apart! Just as we tore away from the impure Faith, now the scientists are questioning themselves. Surely the schism of Science is close at hand, and with it the fall of this pernicious heresy….

They really, really don’t get it. They never even tried to understand us. The idea that not onlycan our ideas be severable — but that they must — that it is intrinsic to everything scientists do that everyone, no matter how laudable, can be questioned, can be debated, can be flat out wrong… it’s so far away from how shamans have operated throughout history that they never made the leap, not through all their schooling. To them, we’re just competition.

– a comment by Catfish N. Cod

Forget “left-versus-right.” Or even arguments over taxes. The centerpiece of our current Phase Three of the American Civil War is the all-out campaign to discredit science.

Elsewhere I show that the War on Science is part of a much wider effort to destroy public trust in every “smartypants caste” — from school teachers, journalists, medical doctors and attorneys to professors, civil servants and skilled labor. (Name a center of intellect that’s exempt!) But nowhere is it more relentless than by savaging the one group in society that’s unarguably among the smartest and best educated.

It’s having the intended effects. Chew on this. Thirty years ago, in the era of Barry Goldwater and William F. Buckley, 40% of U.S. scientists were Republicans. Today that fraction has plummeted to around 6%.  Can you blame them?

Why is this happening? I go into it elsewhere — the underlying motive for a campaign that will leave only one elite standing. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that everybody has this thing backward.  Scientists are not being undermined in order to argue against Human Generated Climate Change (HGCC). Rather, the whole HGCC imbroglio serves as a central rallying point in the campaign against science.

== The latest salvo  ==

Trust the once-credible — now murdochian — mouthpiece called the Wall Street Journal to publish a sophistry-drenched festival of talking points. Five Truths about Climate Change by Robert Bryce.

Yep, call it “truth.”  The Far Left spent years devaluing that once-proud word on a hundred university campuses, in their own version of a War on Science. Now the Entire Right — not just the far-fringe — completes the devaluation of “truth” down to Orwellian levels.  Take this sampler from Bryce.

“The science is not settled, not by a long shot. Last month, scientists at CERN, the prestigious high-energy physics lab in Switzerland, reported that neutrinos might—repeat, might—travel faster than the speed of light. If serious scientists can question Einstein’s theory of relativity, then there must be room for debate about the workings and complexities of the Earth’s atmosphere.”

Urk!  Gurggle (*strangling sounds*) — I must let someone else answer this.  This cartoon from Sci- ?nce! will make you both laugh and sob for your civilization.

Philip Boyd, Saving Grace Actor, Rips “The Business That Is Scientology”

PhilipBoyd2.jpg

“If I could save one person from buying into the business that is Scientology, then it would be worth you writing my story.”

That’s how actor Philip Boyd concluded an interview that I didn’t even expect to happen.

Let me back up: I’m in Southern California for a school visit, and with some free time on my hands, I went to Santa Monica to meet some folks I talk to for our Scientology stories.

Through something of an accident, however, I was introduced to Boyd, an up-and-coming actor who has appeared or had recurring roles in several series (Saving Grace, Franklin and Bash, Knight Rider) and movies (Deadland, First Daughter).

Erich von Daniken 2

OK, now James is backpedaling, not that he didn’t have good reason to! Erich von Daniken is a revered name in the paranormal biz. A super star. Why he wrote books that were on the Times best seller’s list! I’ve read most of them! Not that I like to admit that, I was pretty impressed with Chariots of the Gods too. I was in GRADE SCHOOL at the time, now I know that his conclusions were more or less bogus. Chariots is the only one I remember well, the rest seemed kind of lame, he never really proved his forgone conclusions with any satisfaction. Really he never even came up with a smidgen of EVIDENCE let alone compelling evidence.  (Look, saying over and over again that the Pyramids in Giza had to have been constructed by spacemen jest don’t cut any mustered here in Roswell New Mexico.  WHY do you think they were made by spacemen, why do you think spacemen would WANT a giant burial mound made of stone, not to mention the nearly 100 other pyramidal buildings scattered all around the region.

No, Von Daniken is and remains a hotel hotel night clerk who wrote some interesting books while in and out of prison for fraud. He ADMITTED to making up some of his so-called “evidence” and plagiarized the whole idea from other authors, Lovecraft for one.

Anyway, James seems almost sorry that he treated Eric so badly. His little fans are certifiably impressed with Von Dainikin – not that this surprises me in the least.

Erich von Daniken 2

Although the overall response was positive concerning our concerns about Erich’s Coast to Coast denial there is no scientific evidence concerning ufos being here now and in the past since the old testament one subscriber became very irate. It was considered an attack among other things on Erich; which it was not. It was addressing statements made which are misleading and incorrect and in direct opposition to the evidence. Coming from a position of authority and making statements; which support the ongoing cover-up and misinformation game are clearly in need of addressing. When it is ignored and not addressed on Coast to Coast and disinformation is allowed to go unchecked in the interest of truth we do address these issues. Where I totally respect von Daniken’s work as far as antiquity and believe it played a major role in understanding out ancient past the problem is there is a more recent history, a now and a future replete with contacts and sightings. The frescos on church walls throughout Europe show clearly sightings and contacts playing a major role in many religions. Paintings with Voltaire and other great minds interacting with ufos are easily found by a simple search on the internet. http://www.eceti.org/Eceti.UFOInHistory.html Now add this to the disclosure projects and literally millions of ongoing sightings around the world we have to ask why Erich would make such broad all encompassing statements. It would be more appropriate to say I am only interested in antiquity and roughly anything before 2000 years ago then acting as an authority on matters he has not researched or does not want to research. Hope this clears up this matter. It is important we do not add our own victim, persecutor or savior roles into these matters and deal with them with simple logic.

**

…simple logic?

Why don’t you try some logic out James. Logic would dictate that aliens are probably not traveling millions of miles just so you can ‘belive’ in them. Such a feat would not require belief, it would be factual and uncontroversial. If aliens required me to ‘belive’ in them and required faith to exist, they would either not be working in my best interests or they would not BE aliens in the first place. The very idea that aliens would need to use deceptive means to survey the Earth flies int he face of logic and reason or didn’t you know that?. It’s a religious idea, logic has no use for mystery or systematic dogmatic deception. UFOs and aliens are a fantasy unless and until incontrovertible evidence is obtained. And don’t give me any dope about Goooberment cover-ups. Governments have a tough time keeping much of anything a secret, they are certainly not  interested in chasing ball lighting or ghosts, not spending money on it and governments have come clean about UFOs. What did they find?

Same thing Eric found.

A big fat nothing.

Psychic rejects allegations of fakery

A clairvoyant who champions herself as Britain’s best-loved psychic has rejected allegations she used off stage helpers during her shows.

Psychic Sally, or Sally Morgan, whose A-list clientele includes Princess Diana, Robert De Niro, George Michael, and Uma Thurman, angered fans who claimed to hear a man telling her what to say at a performance.

The show, at Dublin’s Grand Canal Theatre on Sunday September 11, prompted one audience member, Sue, to call in to Irish radio programme, RTE Radio 1 the following day.

Sue said she was impressed with the accuracy of the readings in the first half of the show, but said during the second half she heard somebody talking loudly and realised everything he said Mrs Morgan repeated.
