{"id":1073,"date":"2010-03-26T18:51:30","date_gmt":"2010-03-26T22:51:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oddempire.org\/weblog\/?p=1073"},"modified":"2010-03-26T09:53:11","modified_gmt":"2010-03-26T13:53:11","slug":"the-scent-of-weakness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oddempire.com\/weblog\/2010\/03\/26\/the-scent-of-weakness\/","title":{"rendered":"The Scent of Weakness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>25 March 2010<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dogs have been trained to carry bombs to attack enemies for decades.\u00a0 The Soviets and others have used dogs as low-tech smart bombs.\u00a0 Yet canine platoons likely would rebel if they caught scent they were being duped to die.<\/p>\n<p>Today, more sophisticated people employ men (mostly) to deliver bombs in Afghanistan.\u00a0 Gullible souls are selected, conditioned, trained and deployed.\u00a0 Malleable minds are identified then loaded with psychic software that uses their minds to create a vision.\u00a0 Evil persons of superior intellect identify the raw material\u2014that raw material might be an engineer from a stable family\u2014and trains them to fetch myths.<\/p>\n<p>Suicide attackers have murdered countless thousands of people around the world.\u00a0 They go by various names, such as Kamikaze, Black Tiger, and Martyr.<\/p>\n<p>The attackers are not all men.\u00a0 Some are Tigresses.\u00a0 My friend Alex Perry met a wannabe Black Tigress in Sri Lanka.\u00a0 She was 18.\u00a0 Alex described the girl in\u00a0<em>Time Magazine<\/em>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBut asked when she hoped to achieve her dream of being a suicide bomber, she grinned, squirmed and buried her face in her arms. \u201cShe\u2019s already written her application,\u201d said her commander, Lt. Col. Dewarsara Banu, smiling at her charge\u2019s shyness. \u201cBut there\u2019s still no reply.\u201d \u201cWhy hasn\u2019t there been a reply?\u201d whined Samandi, looking up with the one eye, her left, that survived a shot to the head and fiddling with the capsule of cyanide powder around her neck. \u201cI want this. I want to be a Black Tiger.
